CAMCOPTER S-100

Description

The Camcopter S-100 is an unmanned helicopter drone capable of carrying a 110-pound payload with up to 6 hours endurance. Used by a variety of military forces, it is a popular choice for naval vessels and urban environments due to its ability to take off and land vertically. The main payload bay is behind the engine and can fit a variety of modules including cameras and SIGINT receivers. It has also been used to deliver PSYOPS effects such as dropping leaflets and broadcasting messages via a speaker module. Each side has a hardpoint that can mount missiles.

PRIMAL Assessment

An excellent piece of kit that can deliver similar surveillance effects to a helicopter, without exposing a crew to risk. At approximately half a million dollars it is relatively good value compared to much larger competitors such as the MQ-18 Hummingbird and MQ-8 Fire Scout.
