LASHKAR-E-TAIBA

Description

Lashkar-e-Taiba, translated as Army of the Righteous, is one of the largest and most active terrorist organizations in South Asia, operating mainly from Pakistan. Initially used by ISI as a proxy force against India in the contested Kashmir region, it has attempted to spread its terrorist operations globally to countries including France, England, and Australia. The terrorist organization also conducts hearts and minds operations that include running medical clinics.

PRIMAL Assessment

Lashkar’s most well-known operation is the attack against Mumbai in 2008. At the time it was considered the world’s most dangerous terrorist organization however since 2008 most of its operations have been disrupted by security services.
